TEACHING THE NEXT GENERATION

March 7, 2022

Thanks to EATS Park City for inviting us to Park City Day School to teach about regenerative ranching to the next generation 7th and 8th graders! When we think about key indicators of a functioning society, agriculture and education are at the top and these teachers are amazing! The students were inquisitive, challenged us, and of course giggled. Some of the best discussion came from talking about the relationship between land development, desertification and the small water cycle. Excited to get this crew over to the ranch!

The Soil Health In the West Conference brought together farmers and ranchers to share and learn about practices that build soil health, conserve water and hopefully pad the wallet. McKinley presented on the Science of Soil and Mitch shared our first year learnings as a regenerative ranch and value it can be for the state. We'll share the videos when they are up. Read our post about it to see more.

CLIMATE FUND GRANT RECIPIENTS!

January 19, 2022

We are honored to be recipients of the Park City Community Foundation's Climate Fund. This money will be used to measure and monitor the soil on 4 ranches in Summit County to know what ecological benefits come from our practices, specifically, if our practices sequester carbon. Thank you so much to PCCF and congrats to the other recipients

"What are they doing over there?" Likely what has been said more than once as drivers go by. This was a great day to open our fields to visitors and talk soil, cows, chickens and practices.

It feels more like a ranch now that we have cattle! We are starting off with 3 cows, 2 heifers and 1 bull. They'll be on new pasture every day to ensure the land has time to recover between grazes. Here we go!
